Who am I?

 

Hi! I am Sylvain Bruneau, President of Maître Traceur Inc., a line painting and parking lot marking company.

I have over 30 years of experience providing line painting and indoor/outdoor parking lot marking services. This work is more than just a job; it is a passion, and I strive to meet every client’s expectations, in terms of quality.

This wonderful adventure began in 1989. At the time, I lived in a commercial district. One day, I was at a restaurant and approached the manager about repainting the lines in their parking lot. To my surprise, he was interested.

I had just stumbled upon my vocation, but still had to solve some small problems. After all, I didn’t have what I needed to fulfil the contract. But passion always helps drive us forward, and so I decided to approach other businesses that also awarded me a contract to redo their parking lines.

Over the following days, I bought the paint and I made two templates out of 2 × 4 lumber to guide me in drawing lines. On cardboard, I drew ‘’No Parking.“ And thus I had everything I needed to dive into this profession.

Feeling happy with this experience, I submitted my application to the only two line-painting companies in my region, and was hired immediately.

As the years passed, I acquired more experience. After 10 years in the field, other companies started to show interest in my skills.

It was at this point that I began to train their new hires who were entering the industry.

In the 2000s, I realized that many people were approaching this job lightly, thinking that the work didn’t deserve their full attention. But what really hit me the most was hearing my employers say, every morning, dirent : « Get it done fast. The quicker you finish the job, the more it will pay. ». Inside, I was thinking,  : « But where does this leave quality? ».

Disgusted, not by the profession but by the more than questionable quality of line-painting and road-marking companies, I decided to establish my own company in 2017, called Maître Traceur Inc.

Now, I was the only boss and my primary goal was to meet my clients’ expectations. My top priorities: providing the quality that comes with a job well done and making sure that no client is left disappointed.

This is my second year as an entrepreneur and I have already gained a solid reputation in the industry. When you love what you do and, especially, when you have satisfied customers, the work is easy.

Today, I have completed more than 5000 projects and have acquired over 30 years of experience in the field. At Maître Traceur, we focus on what we do best: pavement marking and parking lot line painting.

We are ready to tackle all your road marking and line painting projects. School and daycare playgrounds, bike paths, pedestrian crossings, speed bumps and stop lines, condominiums, shopping centres, hotels, airports, banks, safe pathways in factories and warehouses, etc.—we do it all.
